Following on from her infectious and highly acclaimed debut, and the first remix album that dropped in late 2010, sublimely soulful vocalist Stac returns with fifteen more remixes from some of the UK’s finest and most exciting producers. On Volume Two of “The Remixes” you’ll find cutting edge beat-makers like Kidkanevil, Alex Patchwork, Blue Daisy and Yult, as well as more established names like First Word’s Herma Puma, Scottish producer Asthmatic Astronaut, Tru Thoughts artist Hint, and one of the UK’s most legendary names, Ashley Beedle. Also featured on this volume are the two very lucky winners of the remix competition we held on-line. London based duo Quirx, and Brighton outfit Ambassadeurs both deliver highly original and effective takes of Stac’s music, and we’re enormously pleased to feature such exciting young talent on this album! We love Stac – and we’re not the only ones….

“Sounds Like a young Minnie Ripperton” Mark Ronson

“An accomplished debut album. Stac’s intricate songwriting makes ‘Turn That Light Out’ an intriguing listen.” Barclaycard Mercury Prize Recommends

“That lady is tasty!” Alice Russell

Reactions:

“Liking the Yult remix alot!” Gilles Peterson (BBC Radio 1)

“Another great pack of remixes….new names as well!” Michael Ruetten (Compost Radio, Germany)

“The Hint Remix will get lots of plays on the Hudson!!!” Nicodemus (Turntables On The Hudson, NYC)

“Playing the Blue Daisy mix on my show tonight. That as well as the Kidkanevil mix are my 2 faves. As always for the continued service!” Jason Pulaski (Ubiquity, USA)

“Vol 2 delivering the goods and picking up where vol 1 left off. Great collection of reworks and winners here, Dunno what it is about Tip as a tune but seems thats the one I’m instantly drawn whenever I hear a new mix of it, and same goes for these, the Yult mix is crazy but the Hint mix is bigger than Centre Parks, wicked!” King Tee (Ireland)

“Strainger, Scrimshire remix soon in our radio show ! DJ Gas (Ilvuoto.com, Italy)

“Feeling the Yult Submix. Dynamic movement in that track. And Hint is sweet too. Thanks again!” Fergus Murphy (Lights Down Low, RBMA, Bitchslapmag.com, Denmark)

“Really dope, soundscape blowing my mind…great remixes!!” DJ Laurel (Sound Diving, Minsk)

“After the Ashley Beedle surprise, it’s also been a pleasure to discover such interesting remixes as the ones created by Hint, Scrimshire or Quirx. Probably Turn That Light Out is the more and better remixed debut album in history”.

Santiago Tadeo Cervera (www.acidjazzhispano.com, Spain)

“MAAANNNN…these mixes put Stac OVER the top!” Mike Stukes, Mystic Vybes, WHCR 90.3 FM (NYC, USA)

“What a beautiful potpourri of genres & sounds, wow!” DJ Georgios Paroglou (Greece)

“Blue Daisy and Scrimshire did a brilliant job…full play !!! And not to forget the Mr. Blue Movies remix (winner of the remix competition) which blows me away !!! Markus Miltz (Further in Fusion, Germany)

Radio play from Josef Sedlon, Radio1.cz (Czech), DJ Jazzmadass, Radio x, Frankfurt, HGT Radio,www.soasradio.org, We Are..On Air, Berlin (Yult Remix), Kev Beadle, Solar Radio, UK (Hint Remix) One Summer Radio, France & Jason Pulaski, Ubiquity, USA (Blue Daisy Remix)

Our number one chanteuse Stac returns to wax with two stunning remixes from a producer whose glittering career has included a number one single with David Byrne from Talking Heads as Xpress 2, numerous other guises including the Black Science Orchestra and Ballistic Brothers, and being one of the most sought after remixers on the planet!

Having heard Stac’s first single, “Balls Bounce”, back in 2008, Ashley Beedle immediately fell in love with this young lady’s raw talent, and so it is that three years later we can finally commit to vinyl Ashley’s “Return To The Factory” vocal and dub versions; a homage to Factory Records, engineered by the one and only Yam Who?, and possibly set to be one of the biggest dance floor bangers of the summer.

Ashley’s vocal mix will also feature on Stac’s second remix album, “Turn That Light Out – The Remixes: Vol.2”, out mid-April, alongside remixes from Kidkanevil, Alex Patchwork, Hint, Yult, Blue Daisy, Herma Puma and many more!

Look out for Stac on tour with her band this spring/summer, performing tracks from her debut album, and well as remix versions re-worked live and some exciting brand new tracks.

For more info on Stac, check out her artist page!

See reactions below – and please leave your own comment in the box, we love your feedback!

“Ashley works some SERIOUS magic on this baby. The dub was heard all over Miami! 9/10″ Mike Stukes (Mystic Vybes, WHCR 90.3FM, NYC)

“Really cool deep mixes, like them a lot!” Karsten Jon (Vinyl Vibes, Germany)

“One of the most danceable releases on Wah Wah 45s, and two more interesting remixes of Stac music. What more can you ask for?” Santiago (Acid Jazz Hispano, Spain)

“What can I say? This is absolutely smashing. Love it!” Snorre Seim (Butti 49, Norway)

“Thanks for one more Wah Wah beauty. This one is very radio Oxigenio friendly! Gonna play this on my daily night radio show on Oxigenio 102.6 fm/www.oxigenio.fm for sure.” DJ Tiago Santos (Oxigenio FM, Portugal)

Rich E (Further Out, L.A.)

“Gotta be the hypnotic dub for me! Like!” Sammy Goulbourne (The Other Side Radio Show, Birmingham)

“Absolutely magical remix! I’ll will feature on this weeks show. Vocal : keys and vocals work very well together creating an amazing atmosphere. Will chart in March chart and will play this at Agoria gig this month. (10/10)

“I am definitely felling the Ashley Beedle Dub Factory Mix! Love the way it breaks down around 5:30. Pleasantly surprised, wasn’t expecting to hear a driving disco version from the Wah Wah camp, will definitely play it out this Sat night.” Tom Mannix (Canada)

Following on from her infectious and highly acclaimed debut, sublimely soulful vocalist Stac returns with a host of remixes from a selection of producers all at the top of their game.
On Volume One of “The Remixes” you’ll find producers de jour, Blue Daisy and Greymatter, along side more established names such as Natural Self and TM Juke, as well as newcomers Elias Linn and Royce Wood Junior, and many more.
Reactions:

“Very nice remixes – if i had to pick one it would be the Elias Linn mix of Glory – Epictronica!” Nick Luscombe (Resonance FM)

“Nice work chaps. Good variety of mixes!” Found Sounds (DJ Mag)

“The Blue Daisy remix is off the scale. That is a masterpiece.” Greymatter (Unique Uncut / Wolf Music)

“I really like most of the stuff, esp. Paper Tiger, Greymatter & PTH!” Josef Sedlon (R1, Czech)

“Brilliant remix of Royce Wood on Stac’s Tip ! Perfect beat, superb bass. Dancefloor killer!” DJ Laurel (Sound Diving, Minsk, Belarus)

“PTH and Natural Self make my day. Both contenders for the next shows…” m.path.iq (Berlin, Germany)

“Natural Self mix! Nice work as always and will be played at Cumberlandsche Galerie for sure.” Ralf Zitzmann (Agogo Records, Germany)

“Sounding sweeeeeet! Really feeling the Greymatter mix.” Ross Wakefield (Part-Time Heroes)

“Brilliant project. Some of my favorite producers remixing the magical STAC. And there is second volume coming. Hotness !!!!” Angel Mishev (Groovy Sessions, Bulgaria)

“Royce Wood Jnr and Natural Self are my fave remixes. HOT!!” Zilvinas Stumbras (Bagpak, NYC)

“A high quality selection with each producer honouring the beauty of Stac’s vocals. A lot of these tracks are real growers. Fave right now is the Royce Wood Jr Mix!” Richard E (Further Out, LA)

“A perfect way to make the pleasure to listen to Stac bigger, longer and diferent. Lots of creative remixes! Difficult to choose one, but if I have to, my vote goes to Royce Wood Jr.!” Santiago Tadeo Cervera (www.acidjazzhispano.com, Spain)

“PTH & Greymatter really nice. Hopefully will get chance to write about them. Elias Linn mix is great too.” Jon Freer (Hearing Is Believing, Manchester)
