We’re very proud to say that, following on from Scrimshire’s “The Hollow” in May, one of the UK’s most important taste-makers, Gilles Peterson, has once again looked to Wah Wah 45s for his Album of the Week! Bev Lee Harling’s debut received the honour this week with Gilles playing both “Private Life Of A Puppet” and “Robots & Angels” on his show and enthusing about the album as whole. Why not pick yourself up a copy now in the Wah Wah Shop!

It’s been in the making for some time now. Despite a hectic schedule embracing the making of other albums (notably our own Stac’s Turn That Light Out), DJing and running this very label, Scrimshire has also been putting together the follow up to his debut “Along came the Devil one night…”.
We’ll give you more details about it in the coming weeks but suffice to say it is well worth the wait. The official release date is November 21st 2011. This will be supported with a launch party and you can also see Adam performing live at the Scala with a new band line up and many new tunes on October 15th.
In the meantime though keep your eye on www.scrimshire.com as there are weekly giveaways of previous Scrimshire records and as of today the mysterious series of ‘postcards’.
Scrimshire himself has been creating several one-minute videos depicting a journey to The Hollow. Each one is accompanied by a special alternative version of an album track, an exclusive preview of what you can expect on November 21st.
Here is the first – which you can also see at www.scrimshire.com/postcards

The first of a fresh new series of digital only compilations from Wah Wah 45s, each complied by a member of the Wah Wah family. We kick things off, as you would expect, with head honcho at the label and international DJ, Dom Servini.
Dom’s selection features recent gems from the Wah Wah 45s back catalogue, including music from the Colman Brothers, featuring sister Sara on vocals; a classic from last year courtesy of Stac; Hackney Colliery Band in a more mellow mood; plus recent remixes from junglist don Cyantific and our very own Part-Time Heroes for Resonators and Colman Brothers respectively.
But it doesn’t stop there, the “Allo Love” series also reaches out to our extended musical family, current office faves and perhaps a sneak peak at a future family member! So, check brand new cuts from exciting young Brighton producer Ambassadeurs; long time favourite Landslide, featuring Sabira Jade on vocals; electronic wizard Yult with the incredible Tanya Auclair; jazz maestro Greg Foat; Mancunian troubadour Gideon Conn; plus a brand spanking exclusive new cover of a Stevie classic from Scrimshire and Stac! And not only that, if you purchase the whole album through the Wah Wah on-line store, you’ll get a stunning piece of contemporary soul from rising star Szjerdene for free!
What are you waiting for?
