Wah Wah 45s are proud to present the third and final single from London based collective Land of Echo’s forthcoming debut album, entitled Almost Music. Don’t Talk (Just Dance) is a slinky, modern soulful disco shuffle featuring the unmistakable vocal prowess of Kathy Diamond in full torch-song lament mode. Weaving lyrically around the cinematic strings courtesy of Lucy Wilkins, and set to a bumping pulsating bass heavy Rob Mac production, the result is a late-night anthem that invites you to lose your words and move your body.
Rob is at the heart of Land of Echo. A well respected producer and longtime figure in UK underground music, his diverse musical history varies from running the legendary Scratch hip-hop nights in the ’90s to releasing under aliases like Speeka (on Wah Wah 45s), Gum Drop, An Explore, and Jumbonics. Rob returns here to the soulful edges of dance music – armed with vintage gear, fresh vision, and a deep connection to his collaborators.
Lucy Wilkins is a violinist and synth explorer who’s known for her work with Massive Attack, Radiohead and Roxy Music. She is Rob’s most consistent creative partner. Her contribution is both foundational and exploratory.
Kathy Diamond brings soul pedigree and bold, unmistakable songwriting. She’s collaborated with Maurice Fulton and been remixed by Morgan Geist, Hercules & Love Affair, and many more.
