  • Description

The second in what now looks to be a regular series of free EP releases from Scrimshire. Songs and experiments that slipped between the cracks during the making of albums, edits and remixes.

Revisited, loved and brought to the world exclsuively here in Forgotten Songs Volume Two.

The opening track includes an unmistakeable appearance from Matthew Halsall on a piece of music that was originally written and produced in 2009, immediately after the release of Scrimshire’s debut Along Came The Devil One Night.

The collection also includes tracks from the process of making 3rd album Bight and some brand new material. All of these songs appearing publically for the very first time.

Beautiful, epic in places and in others deeply introverted, you are sure to recognise here Scrimshire’s very own blend of jazz, soul and electronica.

Reactions

“I Love the EP. Very inspiring. Thank You” Alex Barck (Jazzanova, Germany)

“Very very good tunes! will support.” Toshio Matsuura (Japan)

“This is splendid and I shall be playing on BBC Radio 3 Late Junction as well as my new weekly show for Monocle 24.” Nick Luscombe (BBC Late Junction, UK)

“In my humble opinion this volume serves the strongest toons by Scrimshire so far. Modified Man is most solid… this has really potential, Fuselage could be a new remix of a soundtrack from the 90s. Saltwater reminds me of my old days with SonarKollektiv and Micatone – but updated, and I always liked Matthew Halsall.” Don Rogall (Dj / Berlin / We Are.. Radio / Bassy Club resident, Germany)

“He’s a clever man isn’t he. Lovely release.” Aly Gillani / DJ Gilla (First Word Records, UK)

“Love the creepy soundtrack vibe of Fuselage.” Ennio Styles (Stylin’ 3RRR-FM/Heard and Felt, Australia)

“Glad these forgotten songs have seen the light! All are incredibly beautiful compositions with the Matthew Halsall collaboration taking the cake for me. Supporting on airwaves! 4/5 stars” Jason Pulaski (Australia)

“Beautiful” Kid Fonque (Germany)

“Excellent music !!!” Mark Milz (“Further in fusion” @radio corax 95.9fm, Germany)

“This is absolutely stunning, ‘Saltwater’ in particular is a genuine beaut.” Sam Allen Stellar Inflight Radio & Eastside 89.7FM Presenter (Sydney, Australia)

“Some deep , dark low slung jazz vibes here … touches of Shadow … and reminscent of that songs for my funeral album … Top shelf … but that is what I have grown to expect from Scrimshire ….” Dj Toon, Eastside radio, Fundafied, 45 sessions , Barbershop,(Australia)

“Let’s dive in the delicate & magic atmosphere of ‘Forgotten Songs volume 2!” Black Mighty Wax aka Cesare Cera, Gru Radio (TO), Radio Fujiko (BO) (Italy)

“Saltwater is a stunning track, for me that slow, involving, chilled out, soothing vibe is what Scrimshire does best. A place for everything is just as good. As an EP it has everything I like. It’s interesting and full of stringy loveliness.” Andy sharp, Stomp radio (UK)

“Always remember where you put your forgotten songs as they will be needed as this EP proves” Paul ‘ABBO’ Abbott, www.starpointradio.com (UK)

“Saltwater is gorgeous + strong, organic production on all the tracks. Supporting.” Alan Gubby, Buried Treasure Reciords & Radio (UK)

“Wonderful. I first heard of Scrimshire on a collaboration with Stac I guess. It’s just great. I really like this very airy kind of music” Christoph, ByteFM, WDR 5 (Germany)

“Shared the bandcamp link on the PowerFM facebook page. Really nice EP. I really like Saltwater. Modified Man seems very raw and has some good elements which may of work better separately. Good work on this EP. I’ll support. Thanks” Nelson Ramalh, Powerfm.org (UK)

“Beautiful & subtle listening music. Will definitely play on the radio and in my warm ups.” Pedo Knopp, Mercedes Benz Mixed Tape, Radio X, LAZY (Germany)
